Welcome to the web home of Austin orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Michael Burris and Dr. Omar Akhtar. Our surgeons are board certified by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Dr. Burris is fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Sports Medicine, specializing in treatment of the injured athlete. Dr. Akhtar is fellowship-trained in adult reconstructive surgery, specializing in treatment of arthritis and joint replacement surgery.

Capital City Orthopaedics offers specialized and comprehensive orthopedic care including but not limited to non-surgical treatment, preventative care, arthroscopic surgery, minimally invasive surgery and joint replacement surgery. Our philosophy is to exhaust non-surgical treatment options whenever possible, while providing specialized surgical treatment when necessary.

Treatment of anterior cruciate ligament injuries (ACL tear) including primary surgical reconstruction and revision ACL surgery is a particular area of interest and expertise of Dr. Burris.
